Patella, dating back to the Upper Miocene period at around 9 million years ago, was discovered in Villanueva de la Reina, Jaén.\nClassified under Gastrópoda, Patelloidea superfamily, and Patellidae family, this fossilized genus is a type of gasteropod mollusk that resides in shallow waters with high energy levels, firmly attached to hard substrates where it feeds as an organism scraper.
