Pasting Sticks for Miniature Models
thingiverse
A fellow YouTuber from Watch It Paint It asked if I knew of any items that would aid in implementing a base coating procedure to a miniature model base. Unfortunately, I didn't have an answer as I work for an arts and crafts store. However, I went ahead and designed my own spatula-type item in different sizes, coming up with around 30 unique models! After a few attempts, we settled on the designs that would become the basis for our products. There are four sizes in total (widths), all with the same height of approximately 0.3mm at the tip: 2mm, 4mm, 7mm, and 10mm. We also created two new double-ended spatulas (2:4 and 7:10). Each item is branded on the bottom with the Watch It Paint It logo, and the single-end models have a hole in them so that they can be attached to a keyring or tied together. If you'd like me to print some for you, please check out my Etsy listing. You can see these spatulas in action here (YouTube link). I encourage anyone who makes their own version to share it with us! You can also follow me on Instagram to stay up-to-date on the latest projects and tutorials. By the way, if you have a pegboard at home, here's a handy holder that I came across: Thingiverse #2900352. It was created by Hackschnitzel, who is definitely worth checking out for more awesome designs! Lastly, if you're curious about what layer your printer is on, I've got just the thing for you: Geditor! This handy tool will process your gcode and display your current layer on screen. You can access it here, and I'm sure you'll find it incredibly useful.
