I'm using my iPad 2 with this external speaker, and I've noticed a significant boost in audio level - around six to eight decibels more than usual. The design takes into account the thickness of an iPad case, allowing for snug fit without any issues. However, I did observe some warping on two corners when I first attached it; perhaps adding a slight overhang would resolve this issue.
