Passive hydroponic system for seedlings
cults3d
Use this printed bottle connector to join two bottles mouth-to-mouth. The threaded design is universal, making it suitable for both plastic soft-drink bottles and screw-cap wine bottles. Instructions: Cut one bottle in half and fill the top portion with seedling soil or hydroponic medium like clay pebbles. Keep the other half intact. Plant seeds in the top portion and moisten the soil or medium. Fill the bottom bottle with water, then attach it to the top portion using the connector. Use the remaining half of the cut bottle as a lid for the seedlings. This will maintain moisture and create a humid environment suitable for seedlings. Make sure to drill some holes for air circulation. Place the setup in a sunny area, such as a windowsill that receives full morning sun. Tips: Use the plastic liner from one of the original caps to create a watertight seal between the two bottles. Cut a hole in the center of the liner to allow water to flow freely between the bottles. For added stability, use a wine bottle as the bottom container due to its weighty glass construction. Placing an irregularly shaped stone or clay pebble in the neck of the top bottle can prevent soil from spilling into the bottom bottle when using soil as the medium.
