thingiverse
My wife recovered an almost complete knitting machine except for one missing piece which was just the opportunity she needed to get hands-on experience with a more complex part. This probably won't interest many people, but if it can help one or two individuals then that would be great! The piece isn't perfect and could use some adjustments (I'm still learning), but installed on my wife's machine, it does the job. Print Settings Printer: Dagoma Discovery 200 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Yes Resolution: 200µm Infill: 20% Notes: My wife had to make a few tests to determine the best printing direction. The most effective way is standing upright on the flat part, which requires less support and produces minimal finishing needs. Post-Printing Once printed, you need to put in place the small metal pieces that will guide the thread and hold the plates. I've used nails - four 1.5 mm diameter by 24mm and two 2.2 mm x 46 mm which have had their ends filed down. To secure them, I've heated up their heads, passed them through the holes and made them penetrate the plastic. You can also use glue. To install it, you do what you did with the original part - put it at the end of the tension disks' support on the thinnest part, make it slightly askew (you might have to force it a bit) and slide it into place.
