Party Popper Gun
thingiverse
Create a six-shooter party popper gun by following these instructions. Firstly, get a standard party popper (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Party_popper). Insert it into the barrel, thin end first. Push the Hammer all the way forward while pulling the trigger slightly and release the trigger so that the latch catches the hammer. Next, push the party popper into the barrel about 1cm to provide momentum for firing. Loosen the string and wrap it around the hammer, securing it through the notch. Pull the trigger to fire the party popper. To assemble the gun, print all parts (platedgun_fixed.stl) including dowels, spacers, fat spring retainer, gun body, trigger, hammer, and handle. Sand/grind the parts to make them fit snugly into their respective holes. Insert the dowels into one side of the handle as shown in the pictures. Install the spacer rings, hammer, trigger, barrel, and spring retainer in order. Place a 8mm OD spring (20mm long) between the spring retainer and the hammer, securing it with glue if necessary. Finally, press fit the other side of the handle into place and enjoy your six-shooter party popper gun! Note: The original design for the hammer was not very strong, so an updated version has been uploaded. It is recommended to print this part at 80% infil with 4 perimeters and solid infil every 4 layers for added strength.
