Parts sorting tray

If you are like me, you have an abundance of new and mostly salvaged nut, bolts, machine screws, washers and other hardware of just about every size, but never enough storage to sort every length and particular physical size. Because of this I am forced use as few bins possible in order to sort all same thread hardware of a particular lengths, for instance, from 1/8" to 3/8" into one bin and another from ½" to 1" into another and so on. Needless to say when needing a particular length I would either dig around in the bin of screws or nuts (very stressful) finding the right size or just dump them all out on my bench to find the right screw or nut. That is all well and good until you have to pick up all the hardware and place back into the storage bin and several screws go flying off onto the floor.Enter this handy sorting tray. Dump your screws, nuts or anything small you want to sort onto the tray, then simply dump them back into the storage bin like a funnel when finished. Easy, no mess. The hexagon legs are 1.25" long and have about a 0.04" X 0.5" recess on the bottom for rubber feet. A 17mm wrench fits the legs pretty well to hold while attaching the flat top #8 X 1" wood/sheet metal screw to the legs. The lip is used to hold a standard plastic bin tray in place while sorting such as the one in the photos and is fastened using #4 X 5/8" sheet metal screws. The dimensions of the sorting tray is 6.75" X 6.75" X 0.75". These dimensions where used so that it can be printed on the Prusa Mini.
