Board, grid pieces and hotel markers for the board game acquire. I printed the board mostly in black, with a colour change to white at 1.8mm and back to black at 2.8mm (so the letters are readable). The pieces I printed in white, with a change to black at 4.6mm and change back at 5.6mm, to get the inverse effect on the pieces.

I inset holes in the board quarters for 5x5x1mm magnets, which I got for a few pounds from ebay. I hot-glued most of them, but after one fell out I reglued it with superglue. I think superglue is the better choice.

The hotel parts are designed from the cards available at water bear games, and I printed them in the colours used on those cards.

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

Prusa Mk2

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.2mm

Infill:

15-45%

Notes:

The board and pieces I printed with 20% infill (though there's not much of it).

The hotel markers I printed with 45% infill for the lowest 10mm, and 15% infill for the remainder (Using 10mm-high-modifer.stl as a modifier in slic3r). I was hoping they'd have a noticable extra weight at the base and be less susceptible to being knocked over. I'm not convinced it's made any difference though.

Category: Games
