This thing contains the 3D-printed parts of a device for measuring paraglider line lengths, part or the required safety check for these flying devices. The 3D-printed parts simplifies the construction of such device. It is constructed of aluminium strips and profiles and metric screws (mainly M3 flat heads).

The generic description can be found at https://fjkraan.home.xs4all.nl/mechanics/paragliding/pgLineMeter/, the construction details at https://fjkraan.home.xs4all.nl/mechanics/paragliding/pgLineMeter/designNconstruction/index.html.

This ‘Print’ contains the 3D-printed parts for two parts of the rig: the weight/target part, where you hook the risers and the measurement part with the measurement meter. There are quite a lot of non-3D-printed parts (mainly aluminium profiles) needed too.

The actual measurement device is a laser measurement meter, in this case a Leica DISTO D110, but the cage can be replaced for other devices.

mokkaa created a cage for the Bosch GLM 50 C at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3633880

Print Settings

Printer Brand:

Prusa

Printer:

I3 MK3S

Rafts:

No

Supports:

No

Resolution:

0.20 mm layer, 0.40 mm nozzle

Infill:

15% or more

Filament:

Brand: any brand PLA, but any rigid filiament will do Color: as you like it

Notes:

Some holes are threaded, so I increased the perimeter layers to three, two being the default in my slicer (Slic3er, Prusa edition).

Few of the parts have considerable force applied to them, but the default infill of 15% seems to be sufficient.

Colors are free to choose, but the target plate works best when white.

Category: Sport & Outdoors
