Parts Drawers

This modular drawer system interlocks infinitely, allowing for seamless expansion. Designed for high-speed extrusion printing, the system's components fit together without tolerance issues due to regularly spaced T slots with ample clearance. Built-in springs provide friction to keep drawer boxes aligned, while a small beam across the top acts as a stop, limiting travel and reinforcing the drawer box under load. Larger drawers feature thicker walls for increased strength. Drawers are based on 1" increments, with the smallest being 1"x1", but larger sizes are actually based on 1"+ the joint thickness. The design has undergone numerous revisions to ensure smooth assembly and optimal slot fit. I'm eager to hear if this system performs as well for others as it does for me. A key aspect of this design is its parametric nature, allowing easy modification of drawer sizes, tolerances, and wall thickness via spreadsheet control. When printing the drawer dividers, they must be rotated to lie flat on the printer bed. The drawers and boxes load in the correct orientation for printing.
