Parthenon West Frieze Block IX Restoration Model
sketchfab
Restoration model of the Parthenon Frieze Block W IX (decimated version). Photogrammetry render performed on 157 images of a Block W IX cast made produced from Elgin molds, housed in Skulpturhalle, Basel, Switzerland. These render details are the same as listed in the previous state model. Starting with the state model, I used ZBrush to repair existing structural damage via copy-paste from within this block (and in one instance, from Block W VII). Then, I used polypaint to apply era-appropriate pigment based on comparanda, early accounts of the Frieze, and understood color conventions of the time in order to achieve a model most similar to what would have been originally depicted on the Acropolis.
