Parthenon Hidden Box 2.0
thingiverse
The original Parthenon box was rebuilt from scratch using GrabCAD models intended for 3D printing, which eliminated issues with tiny details and mismatched pillars. I relied on the old designs as guides and remade them in Fusion 360 with significant upgrades: All pillars now align perfectly, and the mesh on the middle section where pillars meet the ceiling is flawless. The lid design has been reinforced for added sturdiness, and internal overhangs are angled at 45 degrees, allowing support to be positioned anywhere for smooth printing of front and back reliefs. Three catches on each side have been added to minimize lid wobbling. Tolerances have been improved. ASSEMBLY: Main sections feature continuous holes that facilitate alignment during assembly. Prior to gluing the middle section to the base parts, slot in the catches and ensure they move freely. If necessary, sand down faces to improve fitment.
