Part Plate Mold for Production

A design tool mold with specific measurements was requested by the production team, so I measured, designed, and prototyped one to fit their needs. The mold must be able to fit a uniquely shaped part from the company in order to allow them the freedom to affix a circuit board onto the part and wire it without having to hold it steady with their hands; they can simply hold the mold in place instead. Prototypes were 3-D printed, tested, altered, then printed again in order to perfect the design of the mold and fit of the part. After multiple prototypes and user testing, the mold was incorporated into an integral part of the production process and printed in mass for use throughout the company.
