Part of the grave stele of Alexandra
myminifactory
Found in the ancient cemetery of Kerameikos, Athens. The stele takes shape as a naiskos (a small temple with columns or pillars and pediment) featuring Corinthian half-columns and an epistyle with cornice and antefixes. The name of the deceased woman is inscribed on the epistyle. Alexandra, wife of Ktetos, is depicted wearing characteristic dress and symbols of goddess Isis. Frequent depictions in reliefs of people accompanied by Isis' symbols demonstrate widespread dissemination of Egyptian goddess cult in Greece. This object is part of "Scan The World".
