Part of Roman Shrine Wall Yorkshire
sketchfab
The tremendous benefits offered by digital photogrammetry over traditional methods have revolutionized what we can accomplish today compared to 20 years ago. This model was generated from 5 scanned Hasselblad slides taken as record shots at West Heslerton in North Yorkshire in 1995, and showcases the inner face of a fragment of the wall of a Roman shrine situated within a dry valley extending between a natural spring and an unexcavated massive well located 200 meters uphill to the south. This dry valley became a focal point for an early Anglo-Saxon settlement established around AD475.
