This fragment was unearthed in Oropos, within the sacred precincts of Amphiaraos. It depicts a barefoot hoplite, clad in helmet and shield, leaping atop a chariot expertly guided by a skilled charioteer. The epistyle bears a portion of the dedicatory inscription, hinting at the origin of this majestic relief. The artwork likely adorned the base of an offering made by a triumphant athlete in the apobates contest.
