Part for 3d printer x-axis.
thingiverse
This design is tailored specifically for 3D printers based on the Scalar M model. To enhance performance, I've swapped out the standard carriage for a direct drive extruder and redesigned the X-axis carriage to accommodate an aluminum direct drive extruder - a configuration inspired by the Prusa i3's innovative approach. The linear shafts that make up the X-axis are designed to be 8mm in diameter, while the trapezoidal screws also measure 8mm. These precise dimensions aim to optimize print quality and reliability. To minimize space constraints on either side of the carriage, I've crafted a presser bar specifically for GT2 belts. While this design shows promise, I haven't yet had the chance to test its capabilities with extended print jobs. Using MOI 3D as my CAD platform has allowed me to bring this vision to life.
