Parsons 3D Printer Enclosure
thingiverse
#Overview# This is an alternative setup for 3D Printers using Mainstay Parsons End Tables. Everyone's situation is unique, but for me, getting to Ikea proved to be a challenge, and shipping costs made purchasing Lack Side Tables unaffordable, so I decided to create my own enclosure based on the Parsons End Table. Wanting a real challenge, I'm designing this without referencing any other enclosures - it's all my idea. I wanted to maintain an internal temperature within the enclosure, so I designed the leg brackets to support two layers of acrylic sheet. You don't necessarily need both layers of the acrylic sheets, but adding them helps prevent heat loss from any airflow that might pass by the enclosure. I also want a door on the front, which is what I'm currently working on designing. Of the door assembly, I've completed the "latches" (or whatever else to call them), which help create a seal where the doors meet when closed. The LCD screen case is designed to fit the LANDZO 3.5inch Touch Screen. #This is still a work in progress!# I'm still designing the parts and layout for the enclosure, so I can't guarantee that it will work correctly or exactly how it goes together. Once everything is planned out, I'll make a detailed tutorial on how to assemble everything. You can see pictures of my progress and how I'm putting it together as I go [here](https://photos.app.goo.gl/3CtHwy61VYM3xf3X8)! My workspace is a bit messy, just like it should be. #Planned Features# * Methods for mounting heaters and fans to maintain the temperature inside. * A port for cables and filament to pass through the enclosure with minimal gaps to prevent heat loss. * A case for a larger touchscreen, possibly with buttons or space for them. * Strain relief for filament passing through the enclosure (maybe including an option for active relief). * Maybe more features as I plan and design things?
