Parrot Sequoia Mount on DJI Mavic Drone
thingiverse
My friend is working on his PHD in Geography, planning a trip to Ecuador to collect farmland data with the aid of a DJI Mavic drone and a Parrot Sequoia multi-spectral sensor. The Parrot Sequoia multi-spectral sensor costs $3500, so it's crucial that he keeps it secure during flight. He discovered a design from someone in the Netherlands that caught his eye and asked if I could create something similar for him. The mount firmly holds the two sensor packages in place while offering three secure attachment methods to the drone. The Sunshine sensor slides smoothly into the back rails of the mount, while the down-plane sensor array is secured below it with a small cage and four #6-32 nuts and screws. Alternatively, M3 screws could be used as a substitute. A rear landing feet piece also acts as a securing mechanism for the mount, snapping into two metal tabs on the DJI Mavic drone. The other two attachment methods to the drone are through holes that align with screw holes in the drone, providing extra security. Additionally, slots on the side allow a Velcro strap to be wrapped around the drone as an extra safety feature. I printed two sets of these parts for him before he departed for Ecuador on Saturday. I'm eagerly awaiting updates from his trip and hopefully, some photos of the mount in action will soon follow.
