ParkZone P-51D Mustang Firewall
thingiverse
As someone who enjoys remote-controlled flying, I have found ParkZone's refusal to sell separate plastic firewalls for their EPO foam fuselages irritating. While they offer new cowlings and motor mounts, if the firewall is damaged in a crash, you must buy an entire new fuselage (costing over $30). To address this issue, I designed a replacement firewall for their P-51D Mustang model (480 size instead of micro). I printed the parts using ABS on an MBI 2X printer with 50% fill and .20mm height, employing MakerWare and Skeinforge. To assemble it, I glued the halves together using a mixture of acetone and ABS. You will need to drill small holes for the motor mount and cowling yourself. Although slightly narrow in the middle, this replacement part fits well and functions properly.
