Parkside X20VTeam 20V battery protection cap
thingiverse
This is a protection cap for the 20V Parkside (Lidl) battery. It is not exactly dust-tight, but provides at least some protection from dirt and accidental short of contacts when dropped in the bag with conductive cables, nails, etc.The model itself is parametrizable, mainly in the thickness of the wall and the widening around the latch, which gives better rigidity and resistance to breaking. The model has been tested with 0.6mm nozzle, where it prints nicely. The single perimeter extrusion variants is much more demanding on the printer/filament calibration and is difficult to print without some tiny voids around the latch area.STL files are generated for 0.6mm and 0.4mm nozzles. For each nozzle a single-perimeter and double-perimeter variants are available. I would recommend to spent a bit more material and print the double perimeter variant.Printing: The only possible printing orientation is to print it as a large tower - in the same orientation the STL file is generated. There is a 25 mm long bridge, therefore the STL has already embedded a support structure. No additional support structure is needed.
