Parkside to Bosch adapter - Battery adapter

thingiverse

This is my first upload to thingyverse, and I'm hoping it will prove valuable. I recently replaced the battery on my old Bosch cordless drill. The original battery was Ni-cd, and finding an authentic or compatible replacement required a hefty investment in outdated technology. So, I opted for a Parkside Li-On 20 volt battery that could be purchased for 25 euros with its charger in Germany or 49 euros for the entire drill package, including battery and charger, here in Greece. To make this conversion work, I created a 3D printed component that allows the Parkside battery to slide smoothly in and out of the original Bosch housing. This component was then securely attached using adhesive, and the necessary electrical connections were soldered together. The result is a seamless integration that functions flawlessly. If you're interested in implementing this modification with your own cordless drill, I invite you to download my design for further use. I utilized PETG for my project, but have also successfully printed this component using PLA and ABS. However, please note that ABS may require resizing due to its tendency to shrink during the printing process. I'm confident that this information will be of help to you!
