In ancient times this stunning marble sculpture depicted a devoted servant of the revered Oriental deity Mithras, who was originally poised to hold a torch aloft, but in the 18th century, its arms were meticulously restored with attributes befitting the legendary Trojan prince Paris. Unearthed outside Rome in 1785, it was subsequently acquired by the discerning dealer Thomas Jenkins and eventually sold to Count Fries in Vienna in 1787. This remarkable object is part of "Scan The World", a groundbreaking non-profit initiative pioneered by MyMiniFactory, which aims to create a vast digital repository of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks, and landmarks from around the globe that are freely accessible to the public.
