A sweet little gift for my cousin, his wife, and their tiny Amelia on the way. Two lovebirds snuggled up in a cozy "parental hug" during pregnancy.\nThis sculpture is simply a lovely candle holder, with mommy's tummy as the perfect spot to place the candle.\nI carefully crafted it according to some timeless design principles of Nordic minimalism (my cousins are from Denmark): simple, anti-baroque lines and shapes that shine in their elegance, resulting in two sleek mannequins rather than realistic figures.\nMy initial plan was to create this model using a beautiful translucent material (like clear epoxy or UV resin), to bring out an amazing omnidirectional lighting effect when the candle burns. But then I changed my mind and decided on a plain opaque material to make the light shine upwards, creating a warm glow.\nPorcelain would have been perfect, but...
