• What does its name mean? Its name means "almost a crested lizard," this name comes from the words "παρα" (para) which is understood as "near or close", "σαυρος" (Saurus) meaning "lizard" and finally "λοφος" (Lophos) which would be "crest". This name was given to it due to its great similarity with the Saurolophus. • When and who discovered it? The first discovery of the Parasaurolophus was in 1920 in an expedition made by the University of Toronto. Those fossil remains were found in the area called Sand Creek, a place very close to Red Deer River in Alberta-Canada. This discovery was made by William Parks. • What size did it have and how was it? The Parasaurolophus measured on average 10 meters long, had an approximate height of 2.80 meters, weighed around 5 tons • How long has it lived? It lived at the end of the Cretaceous period, about 83 and 71 million years ago, in the Campanian, in what is now North America
