Parastrophonella brenchleyi Lockley, 1980, A Rare Discovery. The holotype specimen, labeled as 77.11G.24, originates from a significant geological location in Ceiriog Valley, Berwyn Hills. This region is known for its Bryn Siltstone Formation, which dates back to the Longvillian Substage of the Ordovician Period, approximately 455-456 million years ago. As part of an extensive initiative called GB3D Type Fossils, a NextEngine HD Laser scanner was used to meticulously scan this unique object. The scanning process was conducted by Amgueddfa Cymru - National Museum Wales, contributing valuable insights into the world's fossil heritage.
