My MIL was pestered by giant birds that, while perching on top of her parasol, crapped all over it. Her solution involves duct tape - it works, but it sure isn't pretty. It turned out I needed another thread (25mm, pitch 2.5) than the one that came with Marc0Polo's design. I've also added a hole for mounting a spire or whatever you expect will dissuade larger birds from using it as a perch. I used a cat, found here on thingiverse (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3003775/files) and added a threaded hole (9 mm-ish depending on printer and material). Yes, it's an 'odd' dimension, but it's moot now. Material: PETG. Quality: Whatever your patience allows - I went with Coarse (0.3) and 30% infill - it's more than 2 meters above ground - no-one'll notice. Printer: Should be irrelevant, but mine's an A8 w. alu hotbed. Non-toxic gluesticks keeps me happy.
