Meet Parasaurolophus, a massive hadrosaur that roamed the ancient landscape like a gentle giant. This enormous dinosaur measures 9 meters in length and weighed a staggering 1 tonne, earning it a place among the most impressive creatures to ever stride the earth. A crest atop its skull, adorned with bony tubes, ran parallel to its beaked snout. Its robust tail counterbalanced its cumbersome body, allowing it to move swiftly and smoothly through dense forests. In reality, Parasaurolophus probably didn't spend too much time striding the land; like many hadrosaurs, it preferred shallow pools and aquatic environments. Dried and dusty, its skin likely glistened with dew when alive - providing it with the hydration needed to flourish in its dry habitats. Long-necked Parasaurolophus scanned for low-lying plant life on a sun-drenched hillside, revealing a peaceful world from another era. We can glimpse at these massive animals, through discoveries such as fossilised vertebrae and jaw remains that still give clues about the existence of these gentle beasts - leaving many questions in the history books yet to be deciphered.
