Parametrized horizontal filament spool holder with BB bullets bearing
thingiverse
Borrowed the idea of horizontal bearing using BB bullets (plastic balls of 6mm diameter) from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3715156. The radius of the bearing is just enough to hold a 1kg spooler. (If the diameter is too big, the friction would be a bit too high for smooth rotation.) The radius of the top cap needs to be adjusted for each spooler so that it fits in the spooler's inner circular hole. Here are the parameters of the top cap in 'horz_spooler.scad': (line 31) cap_radius : the radius of the top cap, should be larger than 26.2 (line 32) cap_height : the height of the top cap (line 34) num_bars : the number of arms of the top cap (3, 4, 5, 6) Example of cap_radius values: Tinmorry PETG : 26.2 Overture PLA : ok with 26.2, but a bit small Required: * M3x10~12mm bolts & nuts 1 pc for the center axis * M3x5mm bolts & nuts 2 pcs for fixing the top cap to the top ring
