Parametric z leadscrew nut clamp for Huxley

Parametric z leadscrew nut clamp for Huxley

thingiverse

The Huxley parametric part is designed for both Huxley and Mendel variants. In a standard Mendel, its function is served by another assembly part. However, for Huxley, it replaces two parts of the x-axis clamp 4off.stl and should print in less space than one original part. This innovative design requires no screws. It also functions as an anti-backlash nut, inspired by Prusa Mendel's anti-backlash nuts but uses the springiness of the printed part instead of a coil spring. This untested part replaces two x-axis clamp parts and offers a unique backlash prevention feature. To install, insert the x rods through the side holes and place a nut in each hexagonal recess. Then, screw the leadscrew into one nut while squeezing both nuts together before threading the leadscrew into the second nut. The nuts' tension will keep them seated, clamp the x-axis rods, and prevent backlash effectively.
