Parametric Wire Spool Holder

Parametric Wire Spool Holder

thingiverse

After experimenting with several wire spool holders on this project, I chose to design my own from scratch because they weren't meeting my requirements effectively. This is a parametrically designed spool holder that can be easily customized according to your specific needs. I'm using mine for five spools each, but it could be expanded or contracted by entering the number of spools and their respective thicknesses. The rod was specifically designed to snap into place securely, yet it can be removed with a gentle amount of vertical force applied carefully. The STL files are provided for both a 5-spool (5x) and a 7-spool (7x) holder, each spool having a thickness of twenty millimeters. Supports are only necessary for the rod itself, and they're required only when printing it with the specified orientation. **Update: September 14, 2018:** I made an update to the OpenSCAD design to provide better tolerance at the mounting point on the holder. Additionally, I added copious comments along with a full assembly view. The model files were updated accordingly, and I also generated one for seven spools.
