Parametric Wearable Container with Slip-On Cap
thingiverse
Initially, this project began as a small micro cache for geocaching enthusiasts. However, its versatility soon became apparent and it can now be used to create anything from a stylish sharpie necklace to a fun candy jar. The size, shape, text, and even the addition of a loop for attaching straps are all customizable according to your preferences. I managed to print out two sharpie containers and a small box. The default dimensions produce an ideal sharpie case, but the inside and outside container shapes are independently customizable, making it perfect for various uses such as housing tools or pens. One idea was to create a larger handle for my exact-o knife, or even make a pillbox keychain or a glow-in-the-dark container. Attaching your pocket watch to this custom cigar carrying case could also be an interesting option. Despite being listed under household containers, this versatile creation deserves its own category for being simply awesome! However, do note that the text may not work for all configurations, especially those with low side counts. A recent update on June 10th fixed issues with low wall counts and added the ability to create three-sided containers. Additionally, there were several small fixes in the code. Another update on June 4th resolved a bug where a sphere would protrude below the bottom of the container and changed the wall width of the loop to be independently controlled. So, customize, print, and enjoy your unique creation!
