Parametric venting blind
thingiverse
In numerous situations, when installing an electronic board inside a plastic case, it's often necessary to create an air vent opening to prevent overheating and guarantee proper functioning. Typically, standard plastic enclosures lack vents, so when cutting a rectangular opening on one of the box sides, a protection is needed in the hole to keep dust and debris out of the enclosure. That's why I developed this blind design. Printing this blind is relatively straightforward and doesn't require any special adhesive properties. To achieve good results, ensure that the upper face of the model faces down when printing, allowing the blind axles to make contact with the print bed. A moderate layer height of 0.16 mm yields excellent outcomes. The provided .STL file is optimized for a rectangular window measuring 63mm x 23mm. Dimensions and axle count are easily adjustable by modifying parameters within the OpenSCAD file.
