Parametric Tubular Fin Jig

Parametric Tubular Fin Jig

In general, assembling tube fins is a breeze, but why not take it to the next level? I suggest gluing the first fin tube firmly onto the body tube and laying it flat on a table for precise alignment. Allow the glue to set slightly before proceeding, ensuring it's secure. Next, attach the remaining tubes in any order, then slip the jig into place to hold everything steady while it dries. Don't forget to verify that your jig will slide smoothly onto the tubes and keep them securely in position before applying glue. Keep in mind that your printer and slicer may have unique tolerances, so size adjustments might be necessary. This versatile parametric tube fin jig was designed specifically for assembling the Quest Totally Tubular rocket, but its adaptability makes it easy to apply to rockets like the Estes Super Neon XL or similar models with minimal modification.
