Parametric Tube Container

thingiverse

This is a versatile storage box designed for holding collections of round objects such as game tokens, coins, or marbles. It can also be used to store a wide variety of other items like dice, candies, gifts, pens, pencils, crayons, bouncy balls, popcorn, cables, microcontrollers, and more. The container features an outer sleeve with a sliding tray inside. The sleeve has a small notch that clicks into a recess on the bottom of the tray when closed. A transparent window allows you to see what's stored within. An optional pull ring can be added to make it easier to open or attach a lanyard for hanging. You can customize the number of sides; it defaults to six, but any multiple of four will work (10, 14, 18...). The design was created using OpenSCAD and can be modified with Customizer or downloaded as an SCAD file for editing in OpenSCAD. STL files are provided, showing a tube that holds US quarters worth $10, with and without the pull ring. Photos demonstrate tubes printed to store game tokens.
