Parametric Trumpet Mouthpiece
thingiverse
Introducing a 3D-printable trumpet mouthpiece design, this openSCAD file allows easy customization and provides points for various types. Only three mouthpieces are currently available: two Marcinkiewicz (4/7c and 3/5c) and one Bach (3C). Further options are planned. However, note that 3D-printed mouthpieces may not perform optimally due to technical issues in printing. Version 1.1 includes optional inversion and support structure addition for easier Makerbot or RepRap printing. Instructions for optimal printing settings are forthcoming; contributions welcome. To modify mouthpiece types, change the "type" variable in the openSCAD file, export as an STL, and print. Alternatively, download included STL files for a Marcinkiewicz 4/7c with support structures and inverted for easier printing. Post-printing may require sanding and finishing for a smooth, airtight mouthpiece. Ensure high infill and watertight settings during printing; you might sand down the interior after printing to create a cup shape.
