Parametric Tripod Mount for a Flashlight -- Inverted Insert

<p>I got some feedback on my <a href="https://www.prusaprinters.org/prints/119061-parametric-tripod-mount-for-a-flashlight">Parametric Tripod Mod for a Flashlight</a> pointing out that the head of the <a href="https://amzn.to/3tGEDJz">threaded insert</a> doesn't have any ¼"-20 threading where the allen wrench fits in. &nbsp;As a result, &nbsp;some tripod mounts may not thread into the insert properly. &nbsp;<br><br>I solved this by inverting the ¼"-20 threaded insert. &nbsp;In this model, &nbsp;it inserts from the top of the model and screws down to sit flush with the bottom of the model. &nbsp;The ¼"-20 threading goes all way to the bottom of the insert, which means it engages the tripod's threads much sooner.<br><br>After printing, I used <a href="https://amzn.to/3GzTTeP">a ¼"-20 threaded insert </a>to mount atop one of my tripods. &nbsp;At most angles, <a href="https://amzn.to/3quvJg5">my small focusable LED flashlight</a> fits well and a rubber band holds it snugly upside down.<br><br>The base of flashlight I'm using measures about 70mm long with a diameter of 27mm. &nbsp; The included STL file (<i>Flashlight Tripod Mount -- Inverted Insert -- 27mm x 70mm.stl</i>) was generated using these values.<br><br>If your flashlight isn't that size, &nbsp;install a copy of <a href="https://openscad.org/">OpenSCAD</a> and make changes to these &nbsp;two variables to match your flashlight:</p><ul><li><strong>flashlight_height</strong>: &nbsp;The measurement (in mm) from the base of the bulb to the end of the flashlight.</li><li><strong>flashlight_diameter</strong>: The measurement (in mm) of the flashlight handle's diameter.</li></ul>
