I've been experimenting with novel approaches to transmitting mechanical power to my Ultimaker's hot end, focusing on various belt types. With limited financial resources to invest in belting, I decided to build upon DoomMeister's belt generator module and Droftarts' tooth library. The upgraded module now produces straight segments, closed loops, and coils of belting in multiple tooth profiles: MXL, T2.5, T5, T10, GT2_2mm, GT2_3mm, GT2_5mm, AT5, HTD_3mm, HTD_5mm, HTD_8mm, 40DP, XL, and L. I've set moderate defaults for backing thickness and belt width for each profile, but users can easily override these settings. However, rendering time in OpenSCAD appears to be heavily influenced by the number and complexity of teeth, as well as print layout, resulting in exponential increases after a certain point.
