Parametric Threaded Ogive Rocket Nose Cone
thingiverse
This parametric ogive nose cone is designed with a screw-on base for easy printing and use as a payload bay. The shape results from revolving a circular arc combined with a spherical tip, while the thread library is sourced from syvwlch's. More parametric model rocket parts are in the pipeline. The default size fits 1.63"/41.5mm diameter cardboard body tubes and includes integrated reinforcement bar and mounting holes for shock cord attachment. It's now available on Github. To use, download syvwlch's Screw Library, measure inner and outer tube diameters, select parameters, render and export the STL file, print a fitcheck part, adjust as needed, reprint nosecone and base once satisfied with fit, tie shock cord through base holes, screw cone onto base, and ensure balance. Note that threads may curl during printing, and base alignment might require adjustment.
