Parametric Tapered Spacer
thingiverse
I chose to swap out an aluminum spacer along with several shims on the idler pulley assembly of my Delta printer in favor of a printed spacer. Making it thicker, specifically where it attaches to the endplate, gives more support for a longer bolt compared to a narrower aluminum spacer. Initially, I was calling this thin piece a shim, but now I realize that spacer is the correct term. The primary picture demonstrates how I utilized it with the idler pulley on top of my Delta printer. If you're using this with wheels containing bearings, make sure to use a diameter that won't interfere with wheel rotation. My initial mistake was putting the thicker end against the wheels – they stopped rolling entirely. The 2nd and 3rd photos show what I mean by this issue.
