Parametric Spool Holder for Replicator
thingiverse
This 5/8" copper pipe spool holder features an insert that secures the spool in place. Created for Montreal-based Voxel Factory's smaller spools (30mm inner hole diameter), it can be printed with two shells and 25% fill at a layer thickness of 0.25mm using ABS or PLA. To assemble, insert three M3 nuts into the captive nut holes in the sides of the spool holder, spool cap, and end of the insert. Secure these with two M3 set screws each. Insert an M3 bolt into the outer end of the insert and place a nut on it until it reaches the top of the spreading part, without tightening yet. Cut a copper pipe section to span the depth of the spool's inner hole and mount one end in the spool holder, tightening the set screw so no contact with the Replicator occurs. Slide the spool cap onto the other end of the copper pipe, again tightening the set screw. Before inserting the spreader piece, ensure it fits through the core of the spool with a small amount of the cap visible above the surface. Insert the spreader and tighten fully to prevent mid-print popping off.
