Parametric Spinner Cap

This is probably the ultimate spinner cap solution :-). The spinner cap was created using openSCAD and every aspect of the spinner can be tailored to your liking. It can be printed with or without a slot, with or without rounded edges on the button, the button size, plug size, and more can all be adjusted. I'm considering using this with a small screw between the buttons - the screw can be screwed into the plastic, or threaded inserts can be used instead. There are three sample STLs included to give you an idea of what's possible, but this is just one example of what you could create with this program. Openscad is free and easy to use. Simply download it and modify the button plug until you're happy with the design, then export it as an STL and see how it prints out. The difference between a slotted spinner cap and an unslotted one is just a single parameter - ditto for double-slotted ones. A separate set of preview STLs and a standalone openSCAD file are also included to help you attach your caps together with a screw and nut from the outside. This design features a 3mm allen head machine screw and a nut with a plastic insert, or alternatively, a small drop of glue can be used instead. This is an abstracted version of an older project of mine that leaves a hole in the center of the spinner cap - but you might just like it! So I've included it for your reference.
