Parametric SMD storage box with LEGO 1 x 2
thingiverse
I found an idea about keeping order of SMD parts on Instructables last year: https://www.instructables.com/id/LEGO-SMD-Resistor-Storage/ The basic concept is to use 1 x 2 Lego blocks as a storage box. Most of these blocks have a bridge in the center, but transparent ones do not and are instead small boxes. By stacking them together, you seal the contents. You can also add colored blocks to create a color-coded system for what's inside each stack. To make labeling easier, I created a label guide that fits on a 9mm label. This way, you can print information like value, tolerance, maximum voltage, and other details directly onto the label. Recent changes were made on February 28th, 2020. I added options for round and square magnets in the corners of the storage box. These magnets are parametric, meaning they can be designed as cylinders or cubes with a square face, depending on your needs. This should help keep the lid securely closed.
