Parametric Slew Drive
thingiverse
I was blown away by the lack of sleek slew drive designs on Thingiverse, so I decided to create one myself. It's completely parametric, allowing you to seamlessly integrate it into your projects. This design is perfect for moving heavy loads around - like a telescope or solar panel - with a deep reduction ratio. A NEMA 17 stepper motor should generate substantial torque using this setup. The design utilizes 6mm BBs as rolling elements. The STL files provided are for a randomly selected 100mm gear, but you can easily adjust the size to suit your needs. Changing the gear ratio will require some tweaking of my gear tooth profiling. I'd love to see this design get more advanced features like an hourglass worm.
