Parametric Skadis Holder for Box-Like Objects
prusaprinters
What is this? This is a parametric model for holders using which you can mount boxes to a Skadis pegboard. For me, most of the things on my Skadis boards are actually boxes because I like to keep stuff in their original boxes for reasons. This model makes it easy to create a holder for any kind of box-shaped thing in no time. How to CustomizeIn order to customize the model, you need to open the FCSTD file in FreeCAD. If you don't have that, just download it, it's completely free. After opening the file, you will see this screen:Click the “model” tag on the left-hand side and you will see the model tree. There is a spreadsheet in there - click on it to open the config sheet:Follow the instructions in the sheet and make sure that you specify a unit for your dimensions. After configuring the size of your box, click on the “body” item in the model tree to select it. Now choose the “export” entry in the “file” menu and export your model - I strongly suggest you use “STEP” as the file type, not STL. Prusa Slicer can import STEP files, and the results are typically more accurate. The STEP file you just exported is your customized holder. Let's print now!How to PrintFor every holder you will need the holder itself (which you customized in the previous step) and two hooks. The model file for the hooks is included in the downloads of this model. After importing everything in the slicer, your plate should look like this:You will need no supports here. Depending on your printer configuration and the filament used, the hooks may or may not need a brim - the only way to find out is probably a test print. On my MK4 with the satin build sheet and Prusament PETG, no brim is required.Infill really doesn't matter. I use 15% gyroid, but anything should work as there's almost no infill, anyway.AssemblyPut a drop of superglue in the recessed bits on the back side of the holder, firmly push the hooks in and let the glue set for a few minutes.Depending on your filament, it's possible that the glue isn't even needed. In my configuration, it's required.Be Decent, Post a Make!I draw great pleasure from seeing if and how other people use my designs. I would really appreciate it if you could post a make - and you'll also get Prusameters for that, so win-win. :)
