See the writeup here:http://epicbeardquest.blogspot.com/2024/02/a-410-shotshell-in-44-magnum-rifle.htmlThese are shotshell caps for pistol cartridges. They are intended to be used with a cardstock base wad. My purpose for making these was to develop a wildly oversize nonstandard 44 Magnum cartridge roughly equivalent to a 2-1/2" 410 load. As such, my focus was on 44 MAG/SPL variants, but you can configure them for whatever cartridge or action you want. The zip file includes multiple SCAD templates preconfigured for variations on caps suited for 44 magnum and 44 special. There are also a couple untested examples for 45 colt and 357 magnum. Don't expect them to work right away, but they're a starting point. There are also two STL files included for my very particular use. They likely won't be useful for you. Printer tolerance tweaking aside, they're definitely not going to fit in a revolver. These were designed to be resin printed, so don't expect to print these on an FDM printer. Geometry aside, I don't think any of the pedestrian filament materials are remotely appropriate. Again, see the article. If you actually develop your own loads, post them! Throw down a comment here, on printables.com, or on the blog. Pedestrian SAAMI spec cartridges are broadly helpful to others, but I'm kind of hoping I'm not the only one inclined to create unobtainable oversize cartridges.
