Parametric SD Card Holder

Parametric SD Card Holder

thingiverse

I needed a customisable OpenSCAD SD card holder, so I drew inspiration from https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2932245 because its design stood out. The result is this script that automatically generates trays and a correctly sized housing to hold them once you select the required combination of trays. It uses the OpenSCAD customiser for easy parameter adjustments. You can specify options to generate ready for 3D printing or show what the resulting SD card holder will look like. Depending on your 3D printer, you can control clearances for the outer enclosure and spacing between trays. Additionally, it's possible to have two lines of text on the back (e.g. your name) and an SD logo on the front. No supports are required, and I've printed some at 0.2mm resolution. Once printed out, you'll need an M3 screw and nut of the right length to hold it all together. I applied a drop of superglue on the thread of the nut to prevent it from coming apart.
