What is it? ===== It's a screwdriver holder which sits on a workbench or a shelf. The tip of the screwdriver faces upward. I use this to hold & organize hex drivers, Torx drivers, nut drivers, and regular screwdrivers. This version has conical beveling on the bottom of the model and spherical beveling on the top. This style of bevel works better with FDM. Story ===== I liked the Team Associated Hex Driver Holder, but I needed it in a wider variety of sizes and shapes. So, I created a parametric design in OpenSCAD, and evolved it through several steps and prototypes. I did several iterations of Design / Build / Use, and ended up with the design you see here. This design is CPU-intensive (O(5 hours)) and memory-intensive (O(69GB)) to render with smoothed edges, so I'm attaching a large number of pre-rendered STL files in a variety of sizes and shapes. Many other sizes and counts are possible -- but be prepared to run it overnight if you want a high-quality rendering. Printing ===== This is an easy design to print. I've printed my versions of it with PLA, because it just needs to hold its shape -- and neither high-strength nor heat-resistance is required to hold a screwdriver on a workbench. It should worth with most types of rigid filament, though. I've printed my versions of this with a 0.20mm layer-height, but it should work just fine with thinner or thicker layer heights. The biggest issue with this is that some of the handle-sizes and hole-counts I'd like to print don't fit on my Prusa i3.
