Parametric Rope Tensioner

Parametric Rope Tensioner

thingiverse

A simple parametric rope tensioner with OpenSCAD file. This is a two-hole tensioner, and even the size of the one printed from the attached SCAD file prints in about an hour in high resolution. There are three parameters to customize to your needs. diameterUnit should be in millimeters. As you see in the attached SCAD file, the last rope I created it for was 5/32 of an inch in thickness. This line of code just does the conversion, since, as I'm in the U.S., most ropes will be in inches rather than millimeters. length is the length in millimeters for the tensioner. thickness is how thick you want it to be. Simple as that. You may want to also change two other numbers used to compute the outerWidth and holeDiameter, as an exact hole diameter may need a slight adjustment, so the hole isn't exactly, but rather larger than, the diameter of the rope. Enjoy.
