Parametric Rocket Fin Alignment Guide / Jig
thingiverse
Update 7/2: The latest version (v2.0) features a sleeve option for attaching fins at various points along the tube. This fully parametric model makes it easy to attach multiple fins to rocket tubes of different sizes and even supports various fin numbers simultaneously (e.g., 3 and 4, as shown in the photo). The model is smart about fin alignment, providing internal support where the fin is attached and adjusting the guide block for fin thickness. Print a smaller one to attach three cardboard fins to a paper towel tube or configure it for larger setups like five fins on a thick shipping tube. Many parameters are available for customization, including rocket body size, number of fins, fin dimensions, support material thicknesses, and base thickness. To use, adjust the "User-defined values," print, clean up if needed, insert the tube, clip fins to guides, and glue as desired while avoiding gluing the jig to the rocket by setting the standoff value appropriately.
